Very family has its unique rites of passage, those generational milestones that mark a child’s growth and remind parents of their own similar experiences, years earlier. In the Jolie-Pitt household, one such event is the day a kid begins collecting daggers. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s seven-year-old son, Maddox, like many boys his age, has lately developed a fondness for guns and knives, and Jolie proudly notes that the predilection runs in the family.

“My mom took me to buy my first daggers when I was 11 or 12,” she recalls. “And I’ve already bought Maddox some things. We take him to a special shop.” She emphasizes that the knife blades are dulled so they’re not dangerous, and that the purchases are accompanied by discussions about violence. But, she says, “we also talk about samurais and about the idea of defending someone as good. We talk about everything.”

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker and her husband, NBA San Antonio Spurs point guard, Tony Parker appear in the 2009 London Fog marketing campaign.


“It was fun to work together,” Eva says the series of saucy snaps shot by photographer Nino Munoz at Milk Studios in Los Angeles. “London Fog is always classy and beautiful, and we knew we were in good hands for the campaign.” And the fashionista put her stamp of approval on the collection, enthusing “the coats and bags were gorgeous; I am a huge fan of trench coats and all the London Fog trenches were amazing.”

The pair met in November 1992 during New York City’s Fashion Week. She was 17 and about to finish high school; he was 35 and a self-admitted ladies man.

“I was skeptical,” model Tyra Banks told PEOPLE in 2002 of her initial reaction to the relationship. But, she said: “She turned the man about town into a loving husband and papa.”

Berry’s first marriage was to former baseball player David Justice. The couple separated in 1996 and their divorce was finalized in 1997. Justice played with the Atlanta Braves and experienced a measure of fame as the team rose to prominence in the early 1990s. The couple found it difficult to maintain their relationship while he was playing baseball and she was filming elsewhere. Berry has stated publicly that she was so depressed after her breakup with Justice that she considered taking her own life but she could not bear the thought of her mother finding her body.
