Why does ‘Hawaiian Sophie’ remind me of ‘Parents Just Don’t Understand’ by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince (Will Smith). mmmm

Both tracks came out in 1989 but “Parents Just Don’t Understand” is a Grammy Award winning rap song on the album “He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper” sung by rap duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. The song won the 1989 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance, the first of two ever awarded in that category, and reached #12 on the U.S. Pop Singles Chart.

Remember the film House Party? Guess who the starring roles were originality written for?

According to Wiki – House Party was originally written for DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, a.k.a. Jeffrey A. Townes and Will Smith. Apparently Jazzy Jeff said on his Twitter in September 2009, ‘think about it, a DJ and a rapper…’.
